Twilight Reverie
(by Liliana Bilbao)
In violet forests where time resides her gaze escapes from the now. her hair, flame that floats endlessly weaves a subtle echo in the silence.
Beyond, a motionless and silent bird accomplice to her quest, meditates with her marking the threshold of shadow and sun while she waits - who knows for what voice.
What dwells in her mind bathed in light? Perhaps a song that will never belong to both even so, she chases that burning sky while the twilight, like a granted plea burns her from within, painting her skin.

Echoes of Gold
(by Liliana Bilbao)
I painted every wound with gold
and the river of tomorrow
arrived in song, in seed already blossoming.
That being of white soul and open notebook
who dreamed and fed on passion
had felt the shadows shrink—
and alone... adrift, she stubbornly forgot forgetting.
Broken... but not entirely!
I do not forget, nor do I wish to
I would not close my eyes to miracles—
I choose the gilded story.
The dream paints in hushed calm
and the bread of words gilds every dawn.
Perfect alchemy
born of a white soul and open notebook.
Now it sings... with echoes of other lives
plowing the soil of her passion.
Sometimes dream, sometimes seed,
skylight, verse, dance, flame...
gold... always gold.

Meditation
(by Liliana Bilbao)
The song rises high waves dance in this clear afternoon perhaps they cradle our silent complaints in that monotonous lullaby.
It feels like a gift of broken wings and that stubborn song of the waves looks like victory to the wind praise to time while our own song is a quiet meditation turned inward.

Confidencias

Dawn and Dusk
to my beloved father (by Liliana Bilbao)
We wandered unhurried along that enchanted shore and your voice, Father, was a breeze born of silence. Silence itself was singing, in unison with our souls reunited.
I collected stones, stone after stone while you laughed with tenderness and ease. It was such a long walk, that even now my memory has yet to reach its end.
As evening fell, with the slanted blue above colors flooded sky and sacred lake in a dusk that looked more like dawn. There were no goodbyes, no farewells, only a whisper of eternity shared.
Aurora y ocaso
a mi amado padre (by Liliana Bilbao)

Mirrored Mirror
(by Liliana Bilbao)
Always dressed in splendor,
your image a ceremony of fire and wind
offers poems of water
laughter of sand
and the charms of an urban sorcerer.
To attempt to grasp the magical stillness of your secrets
is to simply and humbly
surrender to the awe of your enchanted image.
Chicago, magical city
your lake reveals, dances, sings
offers its history
and captures you—if you let it touch your soul.
Espejo espejado
(by Liliana Bilbao)
Siempre de gala tu imagen
ceremonia de fuego y de viento
regalas poemas de agua
risas de arena y encantos de hechicero urbano
Pretender indagar o aprehender
la mágica quietud de tus secretos
obliga a simple y llanamente
tu lago revela, danza, canta
regala su historia
y te atrapa si te dejas tocar el alma.

Don’t Wake Me
(by Liliana Bilbao)
I dream...
I know I’m dreaming
yet I speak of what I do not know for certain. Is it me? I wonder.
Is it my voice now pleading:
Life, give me life?
That punishment of living so many deaths is sinister.
I confess that with each resurrection
there was always the alchemy of faith
and the vow of a new attempt.
Forgetfulness was never enough—
I was always granted the repeated miracle.
I confess I have cloned my divinity just to keep loving. If I died… or I die in every dream
I left and leave a promise of soul
forgetting hollowed nights
and promises cracked by time.
Today I rebuild myself so I don’t keep dying,
and I dream
perhaps this time I won’t paint the same stone.
Today I know that more than living life
I have dreamed —and still dream—
visionary chimeras.
Don’t wake me...
Please, don’t wake me yet.
No me despierten
(by Liliana Bilbao)
¿Soy yo?, me pregunto.
¿Es mi voz la que ahora suplica:
Vida, dame vida?
Confieso que he clonado mi divinidad
he soñado —y aún sueño—
quimeras visionarias.
No me despierten…
Por favor, no me despierten todavía.

Coral Heart
(by Liliana Bilbao)
In my chest burns your coral heart. I did not take it you gave it to me when I embraced your abyss.
I bloom among your reefs and sing full of rooted gems I am a seaweed reaching for the light.
Your salt is my breath your rhythm, my pulse. You carry me and yet, it is I who keep you, like a gold vein beneath the skin
I, sea woman was born of your silence from your liquid crimson braids, of your voice that dares not hush—not ven before God.
I walk within you sinking and yet never sinking I dwell in you… I dwell in you.
Corazón coral
(by Liliana Bilbao)
